Urvashi Yadav, a resident of Gurgaon, was leading her life as a homemaker. Just like a normal Indian female, cooking for the husband, sending kids to school, looking after her in-laws were an integral part of her life. Time got changed, when her husband met with an accident in Gurgaon and she had to take money-matters in her hands.
It is obvious that a lady who has never worked outside and one day when she starts selling choole kulche on a road-side thela will feel discomfort. But it is not applicable to Urvashi – she knew that she has to support her family, to raise her kids and to secure her future. In her words, first few days were not as good as she was not able to get her clients. She was not even acquainted with all those recipes and masalas that choole kulche seller used. She could not even do home-deliveries as lack of money. It was all a new and not so smooth journey for her.
The time changed, when one day a friend wrote about her plight and it got viral on social media. A few media houses published articles about her venture. People started knowing about her. They wanted to appreciate and help her. She started getting not only customers but working professionals and corporate executives too.
You will be amazed to know that within one year, Urvashi has set up her own restaurant by the name of Urvashi Food Joint. She has re-designed her menu and now it has new items too. Today people not only from Gurgaon but also from Delhi and Chandigarh visit her. She also has plans to open more branches of her food joints. Urvashi is a Naari who has proved that a wife and a mother can do anything for her loved ones! Her story inspires us a lot!
